Segesta

An exceptional doric temple dating back to the fifth Century BC, set in a scene as wildish and as evocative as possible. A theatre of Hellenic age, hanging up Monte Barbaro with its audotorium partially dug into the rock and overlying an cave, holy and misterious.

Segesta – ph. Paolo Barone

Sites of exceptional archeological importance and caves that seem to be a “factory of temples”: This is Segesta. It holds normans and arabic evidences.

It was established by Enea to allow elderly people and “rebellious women” to rest after a legend. It was also known as Diceopoli (city of justice).
