A quick reminder before 2015 ends…

I hope everyone had a great 2015 and that you are all planning to go to Italy next year. You can find lots of information about Italy Explained that will help you plan, including the calendar with Italian holidays, festivals and special events, which I just updated for 2016.

Carnival takes place early in the year. It starts in Venice on January 23rd, while Ivrea’s wild orange-throwing chaos kicks off on January 6th. Easter takes place a little early too. There’s Palm Sunday on March 20th, and Easter Sunday on February 27th.

The majority of the events and festivals are the same as in previous years. However, I have added some additional events and festivals to the 2016 calendar. The Holy Year events were not included in this calendar, as there is a full article on the 2016 Jubilee events that you can read.

We wish you a happy and healthy 2016!
