It can get really hot in Italy in summer. The heat extends well beyond the seasonal boundaries, making May, September, and sometimes April, and October feel like an inferno. Tourists are troopers, and we still enjoy sightseeing, because we have to check off everything on our list.
Night tours are available in certain Italian cities, and at some attractions, for those who don’t want to melt on cobblestone streets. It won’t be cold if it gets dark after dark on a summer day, but it will be cooler than if it was midday. And you won’t be beaten to death by the relentless sun.
These are just a few night tours I found on various tour providers sites. There are many more. If you are curious, these are affiliate links. This means that I earn a small commission when you book. However, it will not cost you anything extra. We appreciate your support.

Rome is a city that offers little shade. Therefore, evening visits to the ruins are a good idea. These tours are not uncommon, so you won’t be the only one visiting the Colosseum. However, the crowds will be less than a daytime tour.

Night Tours in Venice
Venice is quieter as evening approaches. This is largely due to day-trippers returning to the cruise terminal or train station at the end the day. Although the city isn’t as hot as other cities farther inland, evenings are still great for sightseeing or taking a romantic gondola ride.

It tends to get warmer the further south you travel in Italy. An evening tour in is often more welcomed than it is in the northern regions. This is an excellent way to experience Naples’ vibrant nightlife without feeling anxious about being out on your own.
