San Vito Lo Capo is the capital of sports climbing in Sicily. It is home to the San Vito Festival, which attracts the best climbers from Europe. The beach at San Vito Lo Capo is well-known, as is the Zingaro Natural Reserve. This area offers many opportunities to those who love climbing: Custonaci, Cala Firriato are two of the many routes that offer qualified routes for climbers of all levels.
Just outside San Vito are “multipitches”, which offer spectacular views along both classical and modern routes.
For those who love Deep Water, there’s Cala Firriato, where the most daring, and free from ropes, can scale the cliffs above sea caves.
There are many cliffs in Palermo, including Valdesi and Schiavo on Monte Pellegrino as well as Bauso Rosso and Bauso Rosso both on Monte Gallo
As you move towards eastern Sicily, there is Monte D’oro at Madonie Park (Collesano) and Rocca di Sciara (Caltavuturo).
Nebrodi park has Rocche del Crasto and Rocca Calanna and Rocca Traura. These parks are in a wild and rugged environment where griffon vultures and eagles can fly unaffected.
